£10.2 Million Invested in Adult Social Care Providers for 2026-27

Sandwell Labour has committed £10.2 million to adult social care external providers in 2026-27, more than £600,000 above last year. The funding covers: older people’s residential and nursing care; supported living for disabled adults; day care and day opportunities; reablement and home care.

Councillor Jackie Taylor, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing, said: “We are a caring council, and that means investing in the people who deliver the day-to-day support our residents depend on. Our recent Good CQC rating recognises the strength and sustainability of our local care market.”

£27 Million More From Government to Tackle Poverty

On 19 February 2026, Sandwell received funding from the Labour government including an additional £27 million in Recovery Grant across 2026 to 2029, targeted at tackling the causes of deprivation.

Council Leader Cllr Kerrie Carmichael said: “This additional funding will make a real difference to people in Sandwell. We will be putting this money towards tackling the real causes of deprivation, not with one-off solutions, but to bring about meaningful change in people’s lives for generations to come.”
